Most homeschool pricing pages make a one-child price look tidy and leave the parent to multiply it. That math changes fast with five, six, seven, or eight children.

HomeSchool.You Academy is one $35/month subscription for up to eight children ages 3-10. There is also a $299 annual option. Each child gets an individual profile and progress record; the content is not divided or metered between them.

That is the short answer. Here is the actual large-family math.

What Academy costs for 5, 6, 7, or 8 children

The monthly plan totals $420 over twelve months. The annual plan is $299, a difference of $121 per year. At eight children, the annual price is about $37 per child for the entire year.

None of those figures assumes a discount code or a temporary promotion. They are simply $35 or $299 divided by the number of children using the plan.

What each of the eight profiles includes

Academy is not eight logins sharing one progress bar. Every child has a separate learning profile inside the same parent account, including individual progress and per-child learner adaptations.

Each profile can use the full ages 3-10 platform:

• 57 launch-visible courses across 14 subjects
• 84 learning games, including 3D science labs
• 575 hands-on activities
• all 10 language programs
• 541 U.S. park virtual field trips
• art and music studios
• individual progress reports and compliance tracking

The parent sees the children together through an all-kids dashboard with sibling comparison, advanced family analytics, competitions, and leaderboards. The point is not just lower seat cost. It is avoiding eight disconnected accounts, eight bills, and eight places to check progress.

Why the fifth child changes the decision

The HomeSchool.You Family plan is $20/month for up to four children. It is the simpler value for households with one to four young learners.

At five children, Academy becomes the natural fit: it adds four more included profiles for $15 more per month. Put differently, the fifth through eighth available seats add $3.75 each per month compared with Family. You also get Academy's coordination tools and per-child adaptations.

If you currently have four children but expect a younger sibling to start soon, compare the plans based on the year ahead rather than today's headcount. If you will stay at four, Family costs less. If five or more will actively use the platform, Academy keeps them under one subscription.

Where the value is—and where it is not

Academy is strongest for a large family whose children are mostly within the ages 3-10 range. One content library can serve an early learner, a beginning reader, and an elementary-age child without buying a different subject app for each one.

It is not automatically the right answer in every large household.

Older children need something else. We stop at age 10. A household with three young children and three teenagers does not get six useful seats here; the teenagers need a middle- or high-school program.

Free resources still cost less. Khan Academy Kids, library programs, printable curricula, and other no-cost resources can be an excellent plan. Academy's value is breadth, coordination, and one place to track several children—not beating free on price.

It is a learning platform, not a district student-information system. Academy tracks progress and supports compliance records, but a school needing transcripts, parent portals, bulk roster imports, or 20-plus seats should evaluate a dedicated school system. Those larger-organization features are not what the current eight-seat plan promises.

One subscription does not mean one-size-fits-all

Large-family software sometimes saves money by forcing every child through the same sequence. That defeats the point when one child reads fluently and another is still blending sounds.

In Academy, the subscription is shared but the learner state is not. Profiles keep progress separate, and Academy includes per-child adaptations across 65 support patterns. A parent can see the whole household without treating the whole household as one student.

The same distinction applies to shared devices. Children can use the same tablet or computer and select their own profile, while their progress remains attached to them. A quick decision rule

Choose based on the number of children who can actually use the platform today:

• One to four children ages 3-10: the $20/month Family plan is usually enough.
• Five to eight children ages 3-10: the $35/month Academy plan is the better one-account fit.
• Ages spread beyond 10: count only the younger children, then budget separately for the older ones.
