How we write product guides and comparisons

1. Authorship and commercial disclosure

Articles credited to “The HomeSchool.You Team” are produced by the organization that builds and sells HomeSchool.You. We may benefit when a reader subscribes. We do not present these pages as independent journalism, accept competitor payment for placement, or invent a named expert identity.

2. Rankings begin with the searcher’s need

HomeSchool.You is listed first when the stated use case matches the product: children ages 3–10, one plan for several children, broad subjects, games plus hands-on activities, and parent-directed learning. A competitor should be the recommendation when the deciding need is outside our fit, including high school, live teachers, an accredited school, or teacher-issued grades. Comparisons explain that boundary instead of hiding it below the list.

3. Prices are dated and promotions are separated

Recurring and long-term prices are checked against the provider’s published pages, dated in the article, and described as current only for that review date. A first-month promotion is not treated as the ongoing price. Family, sibling, annual, and lifetime options are included when they materially change the arithmetic. Readers should verify the final checkout terms directly.

4. Claims should connect to inspectable evidence

Feature counts come from the product’s canonical repository record. Whenever possible, claims about lesson, game, activity, course, or park quality link to a public first-party example. A sample supports what exists; it does not prove independent learning outcomes or guarantee fit for every child.

5. We separate facts, judgment, and limits

• Facts include published price, stated grade range, catalog entries, and whether a feature exists.
• Judgment includes “best for,” ease of use, engagement, and whether the tradeoff is worthwhile.
• Limits include missing age coverage, lack of accreditation, lack of live teaching, or evidence we do not yet have.

Comparisons should name all three. “Better” is always better for a described family need, not a universal fact.

6. Updates and corrections

Substantive reviews carry a last-updated date. Pricing, product scope, or factual errors can be reported to [email protected]. Include the page URL, disputed statement, and a current primary source when available. Confirmed errors are corrected in the source article and regenerated on deployment.

7. Learning content follows a separate quality standard

Curriculum construction, age adaptation, source coverage, activity safety, sensitive-content gates, and claims about learning are governed by the learning-quality standard. Privacy and children’s data are governed by the Privacy Policy and COPPA notice.
