Cloud Spotter
Lie on your back and watch the clouds! What shapes do you see? Are the clouds puffy, flat, or wispy?
Materials and setup

Parent note
Safety: NEVER look directly at the sun, even partially obscured by clouds — can cause permanent eye damage. Point out clouds by looking AWAY from where the sun is. Apply sunscreen and wear a hat for extended outdoor observation. Lie on the blanket only in shaded areas on hot days (grass and pavement reach unsafe temperatures in direct sun). If thunder is heard, come inside immediately — if you can hear thunder, lightning can reach you. Bring water. For backyard observation, stranger safety is not a concern; for park observation, stay with your child. Reduced-mobility adaptation: cloud observation is perfectly seated-accessible. Reclining wheelchair users have the ideal viewing angle. For children who can't recline, sitting under a tree looking up, or using a mirror laid flat on a table to view the sky, both work. The cloud-type identification, percentage estimation, weather-logging, and prediction-grading goals all transfer completely.
